SYDNEY, Australia (SONY BMG Australia) - Fronted by THE #1 titan of the rock world in the past decade, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters unleashed their forthcoming new single 'Best Of You' (out May 29) to Oz radio today, with Triple J and Nova Sydney adding it immediately to high rotation.
Almost exactly a decade from the release of the first FOO FIGHTERS record, our favourite slayers of rock are back, set to unleash their fifth studio album 'In Your Honor' - an album Dave Grohl says is the most devestatingly good album the band has EVER laid down - on June 12, 2005.

Reminiscent of material from the band's 1995 self-titled debut, the explosive first single, 'Best Of You' was unleashed to Australian radio first thing this morning with many radio stations to committing it to their playlists without even a first listen, and NOVA Sydney and Triple J adding it to high rotation after one play.

The undeniably brilliant (and ever charismatic) Dave Grohl promises it's the best thing they've done so far: "It will surprise you. It surprises me...it is by far the most ambitious project I have ever had anything to do with in my entire life,"

In one of the world's worst kept secrets, 'In Your Honor' will be a double album - one disc is acoustic: dedicated to delicate acoustic workouts and featuring guests as unpredictable as Norah Jones and the second disc is electric: dedicated to what Dave Grohl calls "fucking 60,000-strong sing-alongs" featuring guests such as Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones & Queens of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme.

Dave explains: "I love playing the acoustic guitar, so I thought 'Maybe I'll make an acoustic record'. I wrote 14 or 15 songs, but then it occurred to me that there's something about drinking half a bottle of Crown Royal and jumping up onstage at Reading Festival. So I decided I should probably write some rock songs too.

"It's something I've never done before, as much as we like to go to 11 and scream our balls off, I think all of us appreciate the delicate dynamic. I'm a gentle giant really. Tough on the outside and all squishy and nice on the inside."

Australian fans have already confirmed their admiration for one of the world's biggest rock bands, by rocketing their last album 'One By One' (featuring the hits 'All My Life', 'Times Like These', 'Have It All' & 'Low') straight to a No 1 debut and being the first international territory to certify the album double platinum.

The Foo Fighters' fervent Australian fan base also delivered the band their only double platinum sales award in the world on their previous album 'There Is Nothing Left To Lose' (the Grammy Award-winning 'Best Rock Album' featuring the hits 'Learn to Fly', 'Stacked Actors', 'Generator', 'Breakout' & 'Next Year') certifying 'In Your Honor' is set to be one of the most anticipated rock records released here this year!
