2018 was a year of growth and change for the
Rebel Music label, with successes ranging from team expansion to record numbers of monthly listeners reached. Today, the
Collective happily announces another benchmark goal achieved by their first act, Lo Village, who amassed over three million streams across online platforms.
A blockbuster 2018 set
Rebel Music up for an ambitious 2019, with the Lo Village clan celebrating wins early in Q1. The most notable was the trio's hit single, "Lately," hitting one million streams on Spotify earlier this year. Since then, the team continued to maintain traction, investing in talent, artist development and curated music production.
The structural changes to the music industry coupled with the ushering in of the streaming era changed the way artists connect with and distribute music to their fans. Newer and older artists alike have had to adjust to this change, and
Rebel Music is no exception. Adapting to this new era, the
Collective has implemented several marketing tactics, including pivoting to original and thoughtful content creation, to capitalize on increasingly interconnected audiences.
As they remain an unsigned, independently managed act, Lo Village and their three million streams show that it is possible to balance new age and old school tactics. The group also demonstrated throughout the last year that speaking to the listeners will always matter most. To learn more about what the
