Yamaha Names Greg Macias Brand Director As Company Transforms Brand
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "I welcome our team's challenge to bring the 'Make Waves' promise to life, inspiring and empowering musicians, potential musicians and anyone who enjoys listening to music," said Greg Macias, brand director, Yamaha.

Yamaha Corporation of America (YCA) has announced that Greg Macias has joined the company as brand director. He reports directly to Matt Searfus, corporate vice president of integrated marketing.

"Greg has succeeded in key marketing roles on industry-leading brands and knows how to create strong connections between brands and consumers," said Searfus. "He possesses an exceptional mind for strategy and analysis; we are gratified to have him help tell the Yamaha story."

Before joining Yamaha, Macias held the position of chief marketing officer at start-up brand Magnivation, where he worked alongside the company's founder to introduce and raise funding for their Bluetooth Low Energy technology. As director of marketing at ASICS America, he oversaw digital, sports, retail and event marketing across channels, including partnerships with the New York City and Los Angeles Marathons and the World Series of Beach Volleyball.

Macias also applied his marketing talent and leadership for 12 years at Quiksilver, Inc. where he was vice president of marketing. He presided over numerous brand campaigns, events, athlete management, retail, digital and business development initiatives. He also worked on the company's Roxy brand for teen girls and the DC Shoe Company skateboarding brand during his tenure.

"Yamaha is transforming its approach to branding and marketing and I'm excited to be on the front line," said Macias. "I welcome our team's challenge to bring the 'Make Waves' promise to life, inspiring and empowering musicians, potential musicians and anyone who enjoys listening to music."

Macias earned his bachelor's degree in Economics at the University of California, Irvine. He is a self-taught drummer and guitarist who participates in weekly sessions with local fellow musicians.
