New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Since Bitcoin hit the markets, many have questioned the hype. Now, in the 10th years anniversary of this invention, Crypto Rush documentary is set to give an insider's look into the crypto and blockchain diverse communities."
Crypto Rush is the story of a woman newly introduced to the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency. After investing in a small mining farm's hardware, she immerses herself in learning about the subject. This offhand decision opens the door to an adventure that leads her through an intriguing journey across continents in search of answers. Through those travels, Crypto Rush became a documentary road movie showcasing the diverse crypto and blockchain community in 10 different cities around the globe.
Bitcoin was first named in 2008, when Satoshi Nakamoto published a white paper about the unique payment gateway. However, the real hype started back in 2017, when bitcoin hit the $10,000 mark and kept growing. The news got everyone thinking about cryptocurrency, including the heroine of Crypto Rush, who has documented the historical moment in the movie to help people reflect on it.
Writer, director, and executive producer Liliana Pertenava has been traveling around the world, discovering the stories of industry insiders and community members who trusted the technology and revealing the sometimes severe results of such trust after the bubble burst in 2018.
As Liliana mentions, "We live in a world where digital technologies are transforming the economic reality. Emphasizing the stories of people taking part in these technological developments is crucial for me in Crypto Rush--as is the technology itself. These people are becoming the architects of this new reality, or contrarily, its victims. The movie also reflects my own not so happy experiences with cryptocurrencies. It cautions the viewer to 'know before you go.' The segments in Asia, with its variety of cultures and awesome characters, are highlights of the production that I hope the audience will love."
The production team filmed in the USA, Switzerland, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Korea. The teaser trailer features
David Carlsen, a former largest bitcoin miner in the US, miners in the
Swiss Alps who are trying to build a full-scale crypto mining operation; e-sports evangelist and CEO of UNIKRN platform, Rahul Sood, who is building a cybersports betting platform with blockchain; Ryan Shea, co-founder of Blockcstack platform, building an ecosystem of decentralized apps.
Some other Crypto Rush speakers include Bonnie Cheung, a venture partner at 500 Startups in Hong Kong; Tony Lane Casserly, an artrepreneur from San Francisco; and four Korean female blockchain industry workers who are struggling to gain equality in the crypto industry in South Korea.
The Crypto Rush documentary will premiere at film festivals in the USA, Europe, and Asia in the autumn of 2019.
