NEW YORK (AP) - R&B/pop superstar
Brian McKnight is currently on tour in support of his latest album, Superhero. McKnight recently shared with how he decides which songs he will perform and how he incorporates his new material into his stage show.
"The show has to change as the record gets more popular. I can't just go in there and play a bunch of new songs," he explained. "I have to give them the tunes that they want to hear and I have to interject the new songs as they become songs that they like, so that's gonna be the hard part at the beginning of the tour. But after, you know, we get to the middle section of it, you know, hopefully, I mean, if we projected-I hate projections, I hate that-but if this record is like the other records, we would have sold a million by the time the record comes out, but the audience will let you know. The first couple of shows will dictate to us what we play."
McKnight's North American tour is sponsored by Sears. The singer shared with us some of the perks he has received from the sponsorship. "Well, let me tell you about Sears. I got the greatest washer and dryer you can possible imagine out of this deal and the greatest set of professional Craftsman tools that you can ever hope and imagine to mess with. I don't fix anything. I'm not fixing anything," he said. "They're still in the plastic."
