Childhood friends hailing from Walthamstow, East London - Shanghai Blues are James Chalk (Vocals, Bass), Reece Ismael (Guitar), James Heed (Guitar) and Mike Stinton (Drums). Although having only formed two years ago, Shanghai Blues have already travelled the length and breadth of the UK and continue to sell out shows to their ever-growing fanbase.

Known for their raucous live stage presence, they have already made a name for themselves with slots at The Great Escape (Alt) and City Sound Project, alongside tour dates with Neon Waltz, Glass Caves, Theme Park, Palace, The Rifles, JUDAS and Y.O.U.N.G, with their shows drawing the attention of Music Week, The Evening Standard and NME.

The band have already featured on several tastemaker playlists including The Indie List, Hot New Bands and Fresh Finds, plus support at Apple Music (Best Of The Week) and from Abbie McCarthy (BBC Introducing, Radio 1).

Off the back of their hit single 'LIES', the band have found a comfort within their sound and from this has come a vast maturity to their songwriting. This coupled with a hugely diverse array of influences from artists including Jimi Hendrix and Dinosaur Pile-Up has helped create emotive songs that speak on many levels.

With soaring indie anthems that'll soon be filling arenas, Shanghai Blues return with 'On My Mind' April 24th via AWAL..

"There's a steady sense of calm running through the music of Shanghai Blues. Perhaps it's an innate sense of zen, or maybe it's simply confidence in their abilities" - Clash Magazine
"Definitely ones to keep an eye on" - Abbie McCarthy (BBC Intro Kent/BBC Radio 1)
"Indie excellence" - The Evening Standard
"Shanghai Blues have serious festival headline potential." - Josh Hannen, Amazing Radio
