Nashville's Emily Reid Announces Major Label Debut With Release Of Celebratory Debut Single "Good Time Being A Woman"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Nashville-based Canadian singer-songwriter Emily Reid releases her debut single, "Good Time Being A Woman" via Universal Music. The celebratory and witty single about the joy that the women in her life bring was written by Emily Reid with Jim McCormick and Cameron Jaymes and is available via all digital retailers.
"I'm so excited to release Good Time Being a Woman and to celebrate this milestone with my new family at Universal Music," said Emily. "When I wrote this song, I was having a truly gorgeous day! The sun was out, my outfit was dope, and I was sitting in a room with some talented writers who love, respect, and honour all that is womanly and special, regardless of gender norms. After a long road of judging myself and questioning my self-worth, I felt like celebrating! We deserve crazy amounts of joy and nobody knows how to have a good time like the ladies!"

"I was inspired to write about feeling comfortable in your own skin and celebrating all of the wonder there is about being a woman. I wanted to bottle the feeling of dancing in front of the mirror, laughing with your pals, or singing along to the radio that lifts your spirits and makes you feel full of joy and celebration. "

Based in the country music capital of Nashville, Tennessee, singer-songwriter Emily Reid is a lot like the Canadian tuxedo - sounds curious at first, but once you try it on, it's pure magic. Born and raised in Victoria, BC, Reid originally made her way to Music Row in pursuit of a Music Business Management degree from the prestigious Belmont University. While never intending to pursue her own musical aspirations, once Reid became immersed in the Nashville Music City culture and connected with a network of musicians she began to discover herself as an artist and musician. Shortly after graduating, Reid wrote the series finale duet for Disney's award-winning comedy television series Austin and Ally. With millions tweens across the universe rocking out to her song "Two in a Million", BMG publishing took notice and signed her for a publishing deal in 2015. In 2018, Emily signed her major label deal with Universal Music Canada and is set to release her debut album in the coming months.

With her alluring voice and stage-presence, catchy melodies and powerhouse hooks, Emily Reid is a force to be reckoned with. Reid is set to open for labelmates James Barker Band at this years Canadian Music Week at the Phoenix Concert Theatre on May 9, her first Toronto show since she headlined 2017's Budweiser Country Fair on King West. Stay tuned for much more from Emily Reid to come as she solidifies her name in country music across the nation.
