LOS ANGELES (www.collide.net) - It's hard to believe that after 5 albums and 11 years together, Collide has never played a live show in Los Angeles. After years of perfecting a unique studio sound, the duo consisting of programming wizard Statik, and mesmerizing vocalist/lyricist, kaRIN, have transformed the band into a powerful guitar and synth driven six-piece live band that is ready to bring the electronic sounds of the band's albums to the stage. The band will make their Hollywood debut at the historic El Rey Theatre on Thursday, April 14th. Along with Statik and kaRIN, Collide's expanded live show line-up includes Scott Landes on guitar, Rogerio Silva on guitar, Chaz Pease on drums, and Kai Kurosawa on bass and warr guitar.

Collide describes their distinctive music as "a hybrid of gothic, industrial, dark wave and exotic-electronica that creates a unique seductive sound all its own." Statik's widely sought after programming skills have led the pair to collaborate with many notable artists including members of Tool, Nine Inch Nails and Skinny Puppy. In 1995, Collide self-released their first cassette demo, The Crimson Trial. Ten years later they have 5 additional full-length albums and their own record label, Noiseplus Music. Their latest release, Vortex, is a double CD that features remixes of songs from previous albums as well as three outstanding covers. "Vortex is a two-disk collection of decadent aesthetic brilliance," proclaims Kristin McSpedon of Jane Magazine.

While the band's main focus has been developing innovative sounds in the studio, they are now ready for the challenge of bringing the live version to life. Collide played their first ever show last Halloween at the Dracula's Ball in Philadelphia. The success of the show led to an additional west coast tour in January.

Joining Collide at the El Rey Theatre are opening bands, Mankind is Obsolete, Electrostatic and music spun by Shok. There will be a special 'Saints and Sinners' shopping area set up that will feature original handmade decorated cases by kaRIN. Doors open at 8:00 pm and it promises to be an exciting night as footage from the show will be used for an upcoming DVD.
