Reggae Legend Brinsley Lorde And Biologist Bret Weinstein On Tom Needham's Sounds Of Film
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Evolutionary theorist Bret Weinstein and music legend, Brinsley Forde, are Tom Needham's exclusive guests on 'The Sounds of Film.' Biologist and evolutionary theorist Bret Weinstein recently made national headlines for his part in the explosive Evergreen State College controversy. After his resignation from the college, Bret's recognition grew after appearing on a number of popular podcasts, YouTube videos, and stages with Dr. Jordan Peterson, Sam Harris, Eric Weinstein, Dave Rubin, Joe Rogan and Richard Dawkins to talk about the controversy, and/or his ideas on evolution. He is considered a member of the Intellectual Dark Web, a group of academics and media hosts who do not share a common set of political ideas, but who support free speech and the discussion of complex issues.

Brinsley Forde is best known as the founder of the hugely influential reggae band Aswad. Over the course of the group's career, they released 21 albums. Aswad also scored a number of big radio hits including the singles "Don't Turn Around," "Give A Little Love," and "Shine."

In addition to music, Brinsley Forde is equally known for his successful acting career which includes roles in 'Here Comes the Double Deckers,' 'Diamonds Are Forever,' and the classic 'Babylon.' Brinsley received critical acclaim for his role in 'Babylon,' a film which deals with themes of racism, violence, poverty and disillusionment in London's reggae sound system scene. Originally banned by the New York Film Festival for being too controversial, the film is finally being shown at BAM between March 7-14th. On March 7th and 8th, audiences will have an opportunity to see stars Brinsley Forde and Dennis Bovell in a Q & A following the 7:30 screening. For more information, visit bam.org.

The Sounds of Film is the nation's longest running film, music and ideas themed radio show. For the past 30 years, the program has delivered a popular mix of interviews and music to listeners all over Long Island, parts of Connecticut and streaming worldwide live on the internet. Past people interviewed for the show include Jordan Peterson, the Fugees' Pras Michel, philosopher Peter Singer, TV host Dave Rubin, Woodstock's Melanie, EPMD, Jordan Peele and Ernest Dickerson.
