New York, NY (Top40 Charts) British / Colombian singer-songwriter Vanessa Forero is soon to release her follow-up record to her debut 'From The Uproar'. Since we last heard from the folk/Latina/acoustic artist, she's had a UK tour, had over a million plays on Spotify, recorded live videos and performed at the infamous Abbey Road Studios. Her music has been played on BBC radio, RCM (Colombian television) and SKY 1. Vanessa Forero has had the opportunity to perform all around the country and Europe with her 'feather girls', including festivals, Sofar Sounds gigs and supporting renowned artists (such as Beth Orton, Gizmo Varillas among others).

Forero has also been working on a follow-up book to "The Girl With No Name", which she co-wrote with her mother to tell her extraordinary story as a feral child survivor who lived in the jungles of Colombia. What began as a memory-preserving task turned into a whirlwind of media interest, global promotional tours, television interviews on BBC, ITV, USA's The Today Show, throwing the book into international best seller charts with over 20 translations and a National Geographic documentary, and now talks of a movie.

Vanessa Forero travelled back to Colombia to soak up new music as well as bring back a host of locally made, folkloric instruments. She returned like a packhorse from South America back to her base in Brighton, where she got to work in her studio cave, learning how to play her new instruments and beginning to record new songs inspired by grooves and sounds she'd picked up on her travels, for which you'll hear showcased on the upcoming EP "Fuego".

The lead-up single to FUEGO tells a story about Pablo Escobar, a man well known to Colombia, although not so loved. The song came to Forero in a dream, for which she always feels obliged to complete and deliver, but knowing the pain that the subject of her song has caused in Colombia made this request feel like a tall order. Having buried the song for almost three years, she finally agreed to stay true to the inspiration that knocked on her dreams, and release the song - knowing art isn't always comfortable or to highlight just the pretty things. The stunning animated music video for 'Pablo Escobar' was born out of a collaboration with UK-based animator/illustrator Malky Currie.

Forero is currently living in Colombia, after what was meant to be a one month house swap, now clocking six months as she enjoys working with the local musicians, writing/recording with renowned producer Richard Blair ("Sidestepper"), and working with local directors, artists and native dancers to create two new videos for the upcoming EP: Fuego.
Where she goes from her Colombian cabin? She doesn't quite know, being a follower of the wind. But hopes to return in the summer for a homecoming tour to promote FUEGO.
