New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Southampton three-piece TOREADOR bring together a signature blend of fuzz-soaked guitars and harmonies that have evoked early comparisons to Queens of the Stone Age, The Raconteurs, Rage Against The Machine and Led Zeppelin.

Debut single 'Ashes' is released on 25th January 2019 and is a strong statement of intent from the band—a hip-shaking groove powered by a distorted bassline that rattles headlong into a meaty chorus, all riddled with an easy desert-rock cool and charisma that shows plenty of promise.

Commenting on the song, front man Jack Wilson said: "Ashes originally came from an idea of wanting to write a heavier track that people could still dance to—we wanted to create a track that really bounces. Lyrically it's about a relationship between two totally incompatible people, and how sometimes it's better to just cut your losses and walk away."

The track was recorded at The Ranch Production House, Southampton by Neil Kennedy (Creeper, Milk Teeth, Boston Manor, Departures, Muskets and Landscapes), and the video was filmed at Casemates Rehearsal Studios in Portsmouth and directed by Gingerdope Photography (Casey, Shit Present).

The band will be hitting the road this month on a short run of live dates including a London show on 23rd January at The Dublin Castle, and an appearance at Icebreaker Festival in Portsmouth.

Appearing on stage over the past year with the likes of Demob Happy, Tigercub, The Amazons and Yonaka, the band have created a cult following in their hometown of Southampton that has allowed them grow comfortably into their now thundering live show.

TOREADOR live dates:
23.01.19 - London - The Dublin Castle
25.01.19 - Southampton - Heartbreakers (single release show)
26.01.19 - Portsmouth - The Fat Fox (Icebreaker Festival)
