New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Blue Winter, an indie-folk project from Northeast Ohio songwriter Aaron Troyer, has released a music video for the new single "Poor Man." In a world where social media puts on a lot of pressure on people to achieve a certain amount of success, "Poor Man" is a nice reminder that money can't fix everything.
"This song is about accepting the cards you're dealt in life," says Troyer. "I felt like as I got older the two truest statements were 'you can't change who you are' and 'you can't change where you come from'. I think wrestling with those two thoughts is common for almost everyone, regardless of your background.
The video for "Poor Man" was recorded live at Revelator Sound in Columbus, OH. The track begins with a gentle, sparse arrangement before Troyer's friends join him in singing the final chorus.
The Blue Winter plan to steadily release singles for the next few months, leading up to an eventual full-length album release.
