Digital Marketing Service Intercept Music Signs Sounds Of Havana To Exclusive Marketing Deal
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) A vast library of vintage and unreleased Cuban recordings will make its way to bigger audiences around the world as the U.S.-based Sounds of Havana joins forces with groundbreaking social media marketing service Intercept Music. The Sounds of Havana catalog includes around 9,000 tracks, many of which are unreleased, that were recorded in a "golden age" of Cuban music in the 1960s, 70s and 80s by artists including Carlos Varela, Ruben Gonzalez, and dozens of others. The label has entered into an exclusive marketing arrangement with Intercept Music, which provides automated social media marketing tools enabling artists and content owners to precisely plan and schedule the release of songs, videos and other assets online, months at a time. Ralph Tashjian, chairman of Intercept Music, made the announcement today.

"Whether tracks are hot off the recording deck, or have been sitting unreleased in a vault for 40 years, the challenge is the same: how to get music out to the audiences that will love it and break through all the noise that's in the digital music space right now," notes Tashjian. "With Sounds of Havana, there's treasure trove of vintage Cuban music and Intercept Music is the right vehicle at the right time to play it loud for lovers of Latin music everywhere."

The Sounds of Havana catalog is being released in compilation albums of 16 tracks each; to date, the label has issued 24 albums comprising nearly 400 tracks. At least one-third of each album consists of songs that have not been heard since they were recorded, 30 or more years ago.

Staff at the label will use the Intercept Music platform in the same way that independent artists of all genres do: to promote individual tracks, make news announcements and connect to ever-larger audiences eager to hear their music. Sounds of Havana albums are available on music stores and streaming services around the world, including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Google Music, Spotify and many others.
