 NASHVILLE, TN. (D Records) - Life could not be sweeter for D Records recording artist Jason Allen. Jason was named Producer of the Year at the MTM Texas Music Awards, he's making a cameo appearance in a Tonight Show segment on NBC this Friday, February 25, and his new single has jumped to number 12 in only a few weeks. Jason picked up his first MTM Texas Music Award Sunday February 20, 2005 for Producer of the Year for his work on Texas Renegades' debut album, 3 a.m. Texas Renegade's harmonica player Kasey Klepfer also picked up an award for Musician of the Year. The award show, held at the Big Texas Dancehall in Webster, Texas, is sponsored by MyTexasMusic.com, one of the fastest growing websites promoting Texas Music. On Friday, February 25, the Tonight Show on NBC will air a segment with comedian Tom Green taped at the Historic Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas. On Tom's quest to find each state's most interesting person, he traveled to Gruene and was taught how to Texas two-step by Gruene Hall owner Mary Jane Nalley. Jason and his band provided the music for the segment. Tom decided to show off his music skills as well, joining Jason on drums during Jason's song, 'John Boat Blues.' Jason's new single 'Must Have Been Meant To Be' shot up 5 spots this week to number 12 on the Texas Music Chart. 'Must Have Been Meant To Be,' a love song for his wife, was co-written with his father-in-law Larry Moore and Dennis Knutson, author of the George Jones hits, "Wine Colored Roses" and "The Right Left Hand.' 'Must Have Been Meant To Be' is the second single from Jason's sophomore release, Wouldn't It Be Nice.
