NEW
YORK (www.faustharrisonpianos.com) - Faust Harrison Pianos in
conjunction with
National Public Radio, The Luce Group and Jed Distler,
will present an historic twelve-hour non-stop Pianothon to raise funds
for Tsunami relief through donations to the charitable organization
Save the Children. This event will take place Sunday March 6th and will
run from 12 noon to 12 midnight in the brand new performance space at
Faust Harrison Pianos, 205 West 58th Street, New York City, one block
north of Carnegie Hall.
"It's an attempt to do something good
for those who can't do it for themselves. This is especially true of
the children affected by the tsunami," said producer Jim Luce. The
event will be taped for international broadcast by
National Public
Radio.
This once in a lifetime event will bring together 40
world-class pianists and is demonstrative of the long and healing reach
music can have in times of great stress and tragedy. The pianos chosen
for use throughout this event were selected to enhance the choice of
repertoire by each artist. The extraordinary and diverse selection of
concert grand pianos being assembled for this event includes:
