NEW YORK (AP) - Ja Rule, whose new album Pain is Love debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 last week, has signed onto co-star opposite of Steven Seagal in the forthcoming, Half Past Dead.

The Sony Screen Gems heist-oriented action/thriller also features rapper Kurupt, and co-stars Morris Chestnutt (The Best Man, G.I. Jane), according to Reuters.

Ja Rule's previous film experience includes The Fast and the Furious and Turn It Up, while Kurupt has appeared in Keepin It Real and 3 the Hard Way.
