Carrie Underwood & Ludacris To Perform 'The Champion' At The 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Two multiplatinum superstars - Carrie Underwood and Ludacris - are scheduled to perform the hit song "The Champion," for the first time live together, at THE RADIO DISNEY MUSIC AWARDS (RDMA), it was announced today at the Radio Disney Country Stage at CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee.

Underwood, a seven-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist, will also be honored with the "Hero" Award at the 2018 RDMA in recognition of her generosity, humanitarian efforts and dedication to supporting a myriad of charities.

The 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards' "Hero for Change" Award, honoring youth leaders, will recognize the Boys & Girls Club National Youth of the Year, Carlos Polanco. The Clifton, New Jersey, resident is a long-time volunteer at his local Boys & Girls Club and continues to make a difference while a student at Dartmouth College, organizing student programs to help first-generation Americans and low-income students.

Underwood and multi-GRAMMY Award-winning recording artist and actor Ludacris, co-wrote the anthemic track, which opened the 2018 SUPER BOWL and was part of the broadcast coverage of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. The song and music video continue to inspire fans around the world to celebrate CHAMPIONS and heroes in their own lives.

Charity work has always been a priority for Underwood and she has always used her platform to champion numerous causes she feels passionate about. Among them, she and her husband, Mike Fisher, are ardent supporters of Danita's Children, an organization dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for children and families in Haiti. She also founded her own charity in 2009, the C.A.T.S. (Checotah Animal, Town, and School) Foundation, which supports a variety of needs in her hometown of Checotah, Oklahoma.
The RDMA event takes place FRIDAY, JUNE 22, at the Dolby TheatreĀ® at Hollywood & Highland CenterĀ® in Hollywood, California. A special telecast of the sixth annual show, "2018 Radio Disney Music Awards," will be presented on Saturday, June 23 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel and multiple Disney-branded platforms, including Radio Disney, the Radio Disney app, the DisneyNOW app and Disney.com/RDMA. Underwood and Ludacris join previously announced performers Meghan Trainor, Charlie Puth, Marshmello, Echosmith and "American Idol" winner Maddie Poppe.
