LOS ANGELES (K-OS Website) - Canadian artist k-os was honored Monday with 3 Juno Award nominations from the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The nominations include "Single of the Year" for his current single "Crabbuckit", "Video of the Year" for "B-Boy Stance" and "Rap Recording of the Year" for sophomore album Joyful Rebellion. He is also slated to perform LIVE at 34th Annual Juno Awards from Winnipeg. Additionally, he will be bringing his signature brand of brutally honest, socially conscious hip-hop on the road this April, officially announcing a full-blown U.S. tour in support of the critically acclaimed Joyful Rebellion. Internationally, the album is set to make its debut throughout Europe in March and April.

Since its release in late 2004, Joyful Rebellion has been a favorite among fans and critics alike. Billboard Magazine proclaimed him a "visionary" and Suede Magazine announced "If k-os is what Canadian hip-hop's all about, get ready for an exodus to the great black North." Produced and written by k-os, Joyful Rebellion draws heavily from and seamlessly fuses together the full range of musical experience; from rap to jazz, rock and pop, blues and reggae, and everything in between. The album is a testament to his rare ability to harmonize and emcee, ignoring any creative straitjackets imposed on him by narrow rap or R&B categorizations.

Also impressive was k-os winning "International Album of the Year" honors at The 2003 Source Awards for debut album Exit. This marked a watershed moment for contemporary hip hop. For once, music mattered more than where an emcee hailed from, and it proved that consumers hadn't lost their ability to discern real talent from media hype.
At the end April, will be performing at the highly anticipated Coachella Festival in Indio, California with artists like The Chemical Brothers, Coldplay, Blackstar and Weezer.
