SYDNEY, Australia (EMI Australia) - British band Athlete will release their second album 'Tourist' on 20 February. It's the follow up to their debut album 'Vehicles and Animals', which was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize in 2003. The first UK single 'Wires' has just been released there and looks like it will debut in the Top 5. It's expected that the album will fare just as well when released two weeks later. To quote UK's Q magazine: 'Tourist is a similarly pronounced step ahead to the one Coldplay took between Parachutes and A Rush Of Blood To The Head'... well that's sure got me curious! Athlete are currently on a heavy UK tour schedule. The band will also perform there in February and March with many dates are already sold out. Their last UK tour ended with an explosive show at Brixton Academy. Recently, new songs were showcased on the main stage at this years V2004 festival including 'Wires' which received a rapturous reception.
