NASHVILLE
(Creative Soul) Nashville-based production house Creative Soul and
independent artist resource provider IndieHeaven.com have partnered to
present a special event designed to educate and assist independent
Christian artists. The Performance & A&R Workshop will be held
on Thursday, February 10th, 2005 at Building 8 in the Factory of
Franklin in the Nashville suburb of Franklin, Tennessee.
Attendees
will have the opportunity to hear directly from record labels,
publicists, booking agents, distributors, and other music
professionals.
Industry leaders confirmed for this event include
Creative
Trust Workshop A&R
Director John Mays, performance coach
Tom Jackson, IndieHeaven founder Keith Mohr, producer Eric Copeland of
Creative Soul, Nashville Publicity Group president Brian Mayes and more.
There
are additional performance opportunities for five artists or groups.
For an additional fee, each artist will have the opportunity to perform
for John Mays, and receive feedback and suggestions to strengthen each
presentation. Mays has been instrumental in launching the careers of
such artists as Nichole Nordeman,
Newsboys and Point of Grace. Each
artist will also perform a short set for performance coach Tom Jackson
(Jars of Clay, Selah, Salvador, Point of Grace), who will evaluate and
redesign their stage performance in a private session.
The
registration fee for this one day seminar is only $25 (in advance), or
$35 on the day of the event. Additional fees apply for individual
sessions with John Mays and Tom Jackson, and space is extremely
limited.
