Becca Kidwell Continues To Find Joy And Healing In "A Song & Its Girl"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Becca C. Kidwell shares each moment of joy in song as she brings back her debut performance for a second encore, "A Song & Its Girl" to Don't Tell Mama on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 4pm.

After years of struggle and a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder, Becca Kidwell celebrates how the power of music helped her to heal, grow, and develop a newfound joy in life. Gretchen Reinhagen, her director and Tracy Stark, her musical director, both MAC and Bistro award winners, bring delicacy, balance, and a solid entertaining foundation that allows Becca the freedom to tell her story with mindfulness and gentle intention. "A Song & Its Girl" features songs from the American Songbook, modern musical theatre, and popular music.

2017 MAC Hanson award winner, Ira Lee Collings, praises Becca's "warmth and winning ways." Bob Diamond, 2017 MAC award winner for best male vocalist, states, "There is such joy, truth and love in this amazing first show. I had a smile on my face even when there were tears in my eyes." "Becca Kidwell's infectious joy in her music is transcendent. Her emotional connection to each song is palpable and she positively glows as she digs deep into the story she shares through her music," affirms Bistro, multiple MAC award winner, and Broadway performer, Eric Michael Gillett.

Becca Kidwell revisits this show about her journey to become a singer and connect with others after two successful performances, one in April and one in June. Becca has sung in various showcases and group shows including: Kiddie Kabaret, Don't Speak: A Benefit for the Center for Reproductive Rights (which she also produced), and Seth's Talent Showcase. Last year, she produced and performed a benefit cabaret on her birthday called, "Oh Fudge! I'm Forty!" Becca has sung in choruses in school and church since she was a child, but this show provides a foundation for her new vocation as a cabaret singer.

Reserve at www.donttellmamanyc.com or by calling Don't Tell Mama at 212-757-0788 after 4pm.

Becca is the Artistic Director of Swiftly Tilting Theatre Project and has produced and directed four major productions. She founded the theatre review blog The New England Theatre Geek and has published a monograph on the subject of grief in the musical Next to Normal. She has been singing all of her life in choirs, but she has only been singing in solo performances for the past two years. https://beccaCkidwell.com
