Florida-Based Indie Music Festival "Duval Spring Fest" To Be Televised In Jacksonville & Atlanta
Jacksonville, FL. (Top40 Charts) Producers of the annual indie concert series "Duval Spring Fest" announced today that the event heralded as the north Florida/south Georgia market's biggest annual televised all-indie concert series is returning this year the weekend of March 17-19 and will be featured on Atlanta's new cable TV station DeKalb 25, which covers a viewing audience of over 7,500 households in the greater Atlanta area. Other notable changes to this year's festival, which started in 2006 on the campus of University of North Florida under the direction of Jacksonville-born TV producer and hip hop artist Dez Nado, include an expansion from the original one-day concert to a 3-day, multi-event weekend festival involving community service, entertainment industry executives/professionals, and multi-market television and radio coverage.

Duval Spring Fest 2017 is presented by locally based sponsors Entertainment by Fee, ADUH Clothing, and Vein Muzik/Trunk Ready Productionz, who will be attending the Saturday (Day 2) Industry event at Pure nightclub. The festival schedule includes a televised freestyle "cypher" formatted in the fashion of the famed BET Hip Hop Awards cyphers which annually features some of the most prominent rappers of the last few decades reciting rapid-fire, impromptu rhymes in succession (Day 1 - Friday, March 17; Jacksonville Landing at 8pm), an Industry event where special record label executives and professionals provide feedback for local performers (Day 2 - Saturday, March 18; Pure nightclub at 9pm), and a food/clothing drive community service event at Hemming Park at 3pm followed by a regional talent expo at 1904 Music Hall at 7pm in downtown Jacksonville with more than 20 independent artists.

Some of the performing artists include Dez Nado himself, LJ da Joker, Arkane & Chad Dallas, Pony Xodus, A1TRE, Swaggah Lac, and more.

The festival is the latest of a string of announcements from local media impresario Dez Nado, who recently went public with news of an upcoming Atlanta spin-off for his newly popular "Life & Grind" reality TV franchise. The show, which premiered in Jacksonville in Summer 2014 on CW17's sister network BounceTV (Comcast ch 225/Digital 17-2) and currently airs Sundays at 8pm on the same channel, highlights locally based talent while innovatively giving viewers a first-hand look into the lives and daily grinds of a cast of 8 rappers, singers, and models as they strive to "make it big".

The Atlanta spin-off will maintain the format of the Jacksonville series and will premiere on Sunday, March 5th at 9pm on Atlanta's DeKalb-Comcast cable channel 25.

Dez Nado, the 2016 Jax Caribbean Awards Artist of the Year who recently was booked to perform in Houston during Super Bowl LI with west coast hip hop legend Snoop Dogg, in New Orleans for both NBA All-Star Weekend and Mardi Gras weekend, at the Memorial Day weekend Stardom Music Awards 2017 in Virginia, at which Dez will attend as an "Artist To Watch" award nominee, Los Angeles for the BET Awards Indie Artist Experience, and Jamaica for the annual Reggae SumFest, remarked that the show "opens several doors" for the cast members as past Jacksonville cast members have gone on to be featured on radio, appear in globally released big screen movies, and appear in independent films.

Footage from this year's Duval Spring Fest will be featured on both Life & Grind: Duval & Life & Grind: ATL TV series' upcoming seasons, premiering March 26th at 8pm and March 5th at 9pm, respectively. Tickets the festival's events are available individually via the performing artists (half of the proceeds go towards the artists) or at the link below:
