NEW YORK (Warner Music Group) - Warner Music Group (WMG) announced today that Mark Robinson will serve as lead attorney for WMG's new incubator system, overseeing distribution, licensing and new media agreements.
Reporting to Dave Johnson, WMG's executive vice president and general counsel, his additional responsibilities as Associate Counsel in WMG's legal department include distribution agreements and other business affairs matters for WMG's family of labels.

"We are excited to have a talented executive such as Mark join our team," said Johnson. "Mark's experience in, and understanding of, the music industry and the independent record business will strengthen our efforts to offer services, structure and mutually beneficial relationships with independent labels and artists."

Prior to joining WMG, Robinson was senior vice president of business and legal affairs at Koch Entertainment, LLC since 1999 where he was responsible for handling all legal matters for each of Koch's seven labels and publishing companies. In 1997, Robinson joined the Velvel Music Group, the record label run by industry legend Walter Yetnikoff, and served as Director of Business and Legal Affairs until the company was acquired by Koch Entertainment in 1999.

After graduating from Seton Hall University School of Law, Robinson became an associate at Power, Weiss & Kurnit in 1996 and specialized in Entertainment Law. He is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, School of Management in Amherst, MA.
