New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Indie-pop songwriter, Spencer Anthony released his debut single, "Monsters," an ode to the struggles of dealing with anxiety. "Monsters" takes listeners into the deepest, most vulnerable thoughts of someone who experiences anxiety. Throughout the song Anthony leaves his feelings unguarded and hopes "Monsters" can be a beacon of hope for listeners. "Monsters" is available for download on iTunes and Spotify.

Produced by Mike Pepe, "Monsters" is a gripping and touching track to say the least. The song starts off with an electric guitar and heavy bass followed by honest lyrics and storytelling that grab the attention of listener immediately. "Monsters" tells a story of what it's like to deal with anxiety as Anthony sings, "She wears a screen, an invisible cloak to keep the darkness undercover, she's just trying to cope," and continues with, "I've gotta face this, the dragons breathin' the fire tonight, making my worries collide. Help me, I'm trying to fight." It's lyrics like these that make the track undeniably vulnerable, yet hopeful at the same time. Beautiful and haunting, the song ends with him softly singing over an acoustic guitar, "One day these monsters will see I'm in my castle of peace and the ocean will sing, it's okay, we'll be okay." Anthony hopes his music can help people overcome difficult situations life brings. "'Monsters' goes to a lot of different places, but ends up in a hopeful place" he explains, "Anxiety is an issue that many people deal with. It would mean the world to me if it helped someone."

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Spencer Anthony submerged himself in music and acting at age fifteen. Instead of focusing on sports and hanging out with friends, he geared his focus on music and acting leading him to live in Los Angeles part-time. Now at eighteen, Anthony is determined to craft his musical identity as both singer and songwriter. Continuing to write music that bridges pop and rock, he is currently finishing up his first EP, Words to Hide Behind, due out early 2017. Anthony's goal is to create timeless music that connects with people.

With his heart on his sleeve, Spencer Anthony aims for "Monsters" to be a message of hope for those who need it. Download "Monsters" on iTunes or stream it on Spotify. Anthony's journey is just beginning so be sure to check out the latest on him at SpencerAnthony.com.
