Former AltPress Editors Launch New Podcast, 'Note To Scene' In Early January
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Matt Crane (former editor of AltPress.com) and Tyler Sharp (former AltPress lead news writer) are launching a new podcast, Note To Scene - a heavily opinionated, weekly show discussing and analyzing all the news in the music scene, covering everything from pop-punk to metalcore.

Launching in early January, the hour-long podcast is divided into two parts, with the first half dedicated to discussing the biggest music news stories of the week, and the second half focused on one scene-centric topic, like, "Should My Chemical Romance Stay Dead?" or "Tom Rejoining Blink-182 Conspiracy Theories."

Listeners can email their questions to [email protected], to be answered on the show.

Matt says, "For people into this music scene, friends at school and work usually aren't even aware of their favorite band or genre's existence. So they have no one to talk to about these things—like what Pierce The Veil or Ronnie Radke did this week, etc. That's the hole we want this podcast to fill: A weekly conversation about everything crazy and fun that went down in the scene this week."

As longtime, key players at the scene's biggest media outlet, both Crane and Sharp have honed their skills at uncovering all the news and information surrounding your favorite artists.

"Tyler and I learned a lot at AP. We pulled back the curtain," continues Matt. "I've been in rooms with the decision makers of the music industry. We've helped put on nationally televised events. We've seen musicians, once poster idols on our walls, become close friends who text us, 'Hey, man, how you doing?' This gives us a unique perspective to analyze and critique the music scene. We were insiders. Now we're outsiders, looking in."

Tyler adds, "I'm so stoked to launch Note To Scene. Matt and I are aiming to lead the conversation within the underground music landscape and give it a proper voice—something that seems to be lacking as of late. Listeners can expect discussion and debates of news and topics from across the scene."
Tyler: "When Matt brought up the idea of launching a podcast, I couldn't believe neither of us had thought of it before. Between the two of us, we ran over 5,000 news articles during our times at AltPress. Now that we've both moved on down different paths, this feels like the most natural progression for us."
