Grammy-Winning Drummer Peter Erskine Joins ArtistWorks' Impressive List Of Online Jazz Teachers
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) ArtistWorks, the leading provider of interactive online music education, has launched the latest addition to their extensive online music faculty: Online Jazz Drums with Peter Erskine. This rounds out their already impressive list of jazz instructors, who include John Patitucci, George Whitty, Martin Taylor, Eric Marienthal, Chuck Loeb, Andreas Oberg and Howard Levy.

Voted "Best Jazz Drummer of the Year" 10 times by the readers of Modern Drummer magazine, Peter Erskine has played on over 600 recordings and worked with many legendary artists who include Chick Corea, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Weather Report, Stan Kenton and more.

In addition to performing and recording, Erskine has also been teaching drums for many years and is an author of several books. He is currently Professor of Practice and Director of Drumset Studies at the Thornton School of Music, University of Southern California. His online lessons at ArtistWorks combine traditional drumming techniques and exercises with popular jazz standards.

"I'm going to save you a lot of time by sharing what I know," said Peter Erskine. "The goal of this school is to provide you with a better background so you'll have more fun playing jazz, and also to make every drummer a more valuable member of an ensemble."

Powered by patented Video Exchange Learning, members at ArtistWorks can submit practice videos of their drumming through the website for Peter Erskine to review and provide feedback. Aside from the hundreds of lessons in the Jazz Drum curriculum, members have access to a wide variety of study materials designed to enhance their learning experience. They can also view all previous Video Exchanges with Erskine and other members within the school.
