NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Universal Pictures' Meet the Fockers topped the box office for a second-straight week, earning an impressive $42.8 million for a massive total of $163.4 million after just twelve days in theaters.
In comparison, Meet the Parents ended its run with $166 million in 2000.
The $80 million-budgeted comedy sequel is playing in 3,524 theaters.

"Fockers" set two records over the weekend. Its Friday total of $12.2 million was the best for New Year's Eve, beating Cast Away's record of $8.5 million four years ago. It also set a new record for New Year's Day with $18 million, surpassing the $12.8 million set last year by The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
