Snoop Dogg Chooses Westlake Pro To Design, Build, And Equip His State-Of-The-Art Recording/Video Production/Broadcast Studio
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Westlake Pro recently put the finishing touches of their inspired design for recording and broadcast compound for Snoop Dogg, rapper, actor, and host of the YouTube show GGN.

Longtime friend and collaborator DJ Pooh commissioned Westlake Pro to realize Snoop's vision for a flexible, futuristic studio.

"It's been a pleasure working with these guys," said DJ Pooh. "When all the studios were wired, we tested every wire in the studio. I think one wire might have been off out of thousands and thousands of wires. That's a testament to the work they do. I've never seen that quality of work."

Snoop wanted the rooms and hallways to convey the experience of being aboard a spaceship. Westlake Pro's CTO, Jonathan Deans, worked closely with Snoop and DJ Pooh for design, project management, wiring, and equipment integration. "Snoop had a creative moment of inspiration in his vision for the studio," said Deans. "It sounded like a really fun, challenging project. We were on board and ready to blast off!"

The focus of the studio are two main production and mixing rooms: the Mothership and the Battleship. There are several recording rooms including isolation booths, live recording rooms, and video production rooms.

The Mothership centerpiece is a Zaor desk housing a 64-channel Neve Genesys Black console. The desk has workstations that allow producers to plug in to the main system, giving them power to work on their own material until it's ready to send to the Neve console for processing.

Battleship hosts a custom-built RAVEN Z3 Multi-Touch production console from Slate Media Technology, which serves as the nerve-center for the entire studio.

Battleship has two workstations in the rear corners of the room that allow producers to connect laptops, synthesizers, or other instruments.

Both Mothership and Battleship Studios are equipped with vintage and modern outboard equipment and Focal SM9 midfield monitors.

"It was great to have Westlake Pro in the house. I had a vision and they knocked it out of the park," said Snoop on completion of the studio.

Westlake Pro is honored to help Snoop Dogg realize his studio vision and facilitate the creative output from one of rap's most influential artists.
