 LOS ANGELES (AP) - One of the music industry's biggest annual benefits, City of Hope, has lined up quite the roster of talent for this year's event. Scheduled to perform at Universal Studios in L.A. on Oct. 11, so far, are Mary J. Blige, Jon Bon Jovi, Sisqo, Roger Daltry, Melissa Etheridge, India.Arie, Bilal, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Ronan Keating, Jonny Lang, Shelby Lynne, Smokey Robinson, Richie Sambora, and the Temptations. More special guests are expected. This year's event, fully titled the City of Hope Spirit of Life Award Dinner, will feature artists interpreting classic Motown songs. Edgar Bronfman, Jr., Executive Vice Chairman of Vivendi Universal, is this year's award recipient. Proceeds from the dinner will go establish an honorary research fellowship in Bronfman's honor at the City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute, which is a research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDs, and other diseases.
