Lauren Carter Breaks Out With "Rule Breaker"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Pop artist, Lauren Carter, released her new single, Rule Breaker, an eclectic melody blending seductive vocals with pounding drums that is a work of pop perfection. "Rule Breaker is the lead single from Carters upcoming EP, American Dream, and is available on iTunes and Spotify now.

Lauren Carters breakout single, Rule Breaker incorporates nostalgic Hollywood imagery, classic rhythm & blues styling and a captivating hook. This unapologetic anthem about infidelity is driven by magnetic piano and hand-clapping percussion that sweeps behind Carter as she chants a feisty reply to an unfaithful lover. Carter proclaims, stick around and we can watch it burn, had your moment baby its my turn, I played the fool but now the tables turned. The song builds in intensity as synchronic claps and oos of a mechanized choir are blanketed over the hypnotizing rhythm, and Carters hazy vocals add to the entrancement, singing words of musical poetry. Suddenly, the piano drops out, the bass thumps, and with one grand expos of instrumentation, a melancholy sorrowful song transforms into a sassy breakup anthem. Reminiscent of artists like Kimbra and Tove Lo, Carter creates a spirited atmosphere of individuality that gets crowds on their feet and clapping in agreement. Rule Breaker was co-written and produced by Josh "IGLOO" Monroy, a longtime collaborator with Ludacris. Josh wanted to turn my voice into another instrument, so he programmed synth sounds using my vocals. The additional sounds and vocals you hear are built off my singing, explains Carter. As a genuine expression of independence, Rule Breaker is a dynamic addition to pop music that empowers and excites.

Lauren Carter was drawn to the arts at a young age, studying dance at two years old and piano at five. Carter received classical vocal training at the prestigious Northwestern University and went on to receive a masters degree in music while living in in London. Inspired by artists like Kimbra and Lana Del Rey, Carter produces dreamy pop with an edge to it. She is currently developing her debut EP, American Dream. The title track was co-written and produced by Andrew Williams, the multi-platinum producer and songwriter known for his work with artists ranging from T-Bone Burnett to Jessica Simpson. Adding more to this artistic enigma, Carter is also an actress, model and philanthropist. Appearing onstage and onscreen internationally, she has worked with Oscar-winning director Robert Altman, and has modeled for Sports Illustrated, Maxim, and GQ.

The combination of Carters powerful words about moving on from cheating love, and her undeniable melodies, create a memorable display of artistry that forms, Rule Breaker. The single is available on iTunes and Spotify now. For more information, visit LaurenCarterOnline.com.
