Smoke Season Releases Poignant Video "When The Smoke Clears" From Short Film/Ep, Ouroboros
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Indie duo, Smoke Season, released the powerful video for "When The Smoke Clears," the second chapter to their short film, Ouroboros, inspired by their EP of the same title. The visually stunning narrative begins where their previous video, "Loose," left off - eventually delving into a heartbreaking tale of a veteran suffering from PTSD. While the Ouroboros EP is out this April, "When The Smoke Clears" is now streaming on VEVO.

Picking up where the first chapter left off, "When The Smoke Clears" follows bully, Seth, played by Julian De La Celle (How To Get Away With Murder, Ugly Betty) and his veteran relative, Chase, played by Nicholas Gonzalez (Jane The Virgin, Sleepy Hollow). As a veteran, Chase suffers from PTSD, and has difficulty adapting back to life outside of the war zone. Accidentally assaulting a grocery clerk played by Alma Martinez (Cake, American Crime Story), Chase struggles to recognize the blur between reality and his nightmares of serving in combat abroad.

Smoke Season teamed up with former collaborator, APLUSFILMZ to create the Ouroboros film. Written by lead singer, Gabrielle Wortman and APLUSFILMZ's Scott Fleishman, the film was shot in various locations throughout Northern and Southern California, taking over half a year to film. As a commentary on the symbiotic relationship of all walks of life, the Ouroboros film chronicles four chapters of seemingly disparate lives divided by race, class and sexuality, whose paths cross in a moving portrayal of the interlinking of humanity.

With Smoke Season's cinematic imagery in their music, the choice to pair their Ouroboros EP with the visual accompaniment of a short film felt natural. Known for their unique electro-Americana / psychedelic sound, the track, "When The Smoke Clears" continues Smoke Season's rich and vivid sonic path. Showcasing Wortman's phenomenal vocals and guitarist, Jason Rosen's textured electric guitar lines, "When The Smoke Clears" was produced by Kyle Draper and Dave Burris of Mateo Sound, with additional programming and mix by Chris Mullings (The Neighbourhood, LP). Smoke Season will continue to release the third and fourth videos of Ouroboros throughout this spring. The combined footage of these videos will be released as a short independent film, screening at a number of film festivals next year. Smoke Season will release the Ouroboros EP physically, digitally and on vinyl this April.

Smoke Season gained the attention of major press outlets and taste-makers with the release of their EP, Hot Coals Cold Souls, and have since been featured in LA Weekly, Los Angeles Magazine, The New York Times, FUSE TV, Music Connection Magazine, and Buzzfeed among others. They have sold out shows at The El Rey Theater, The Roxy, The Glass House, The Bootleg, and have performed at CMJ Music Marathon, Noise Pop, SXSW, Echo Park Rising and more. Recently, their music broke five million streams on Spotify. Visit Smoke Season at www.SmokeSeason.com and watch "When The Smoke Clears" on VEVO now.
