Erik Ochsner Announces Frozen And Star Trek: Into Darkness Concerts
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Conductor Erik Ochsner is proud to announce two live-to-projection concerts, both featuring full symphony orchestra and chorus, performing the original soundtrack live, synchronized to film of : Disneys FROZEN (February 5, Krakw, Poland, https://fmf.fm/news/37) and STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS (February 12, Portland OR, https://tickets.orsymphony.org/single/eventDetail.aspx?p=2993).

After great success with Disney's PIXAR IN CONCERT in 2014, Finnish-American Maestro Erik Ochsner returns to Poland to conduct FROZEN. Winner of over 70 awards, including two Oscars, Walt Disney Studios breathtaking adventure comedy will be presented with live music for the first time in this part of Europe. The stunning display of high-resolution film and light will be accompanied by magical music performed by the Beethoven Academy Orchestra and the Polish Radio Choir, on 5 February 2016, 6PM, at the TAURON Arena in Krakw, Poland, which holds 10,000 spectators. The musicians on stage will be accompanied by members of the films Polish voice cast: Kasia Łaska, Magda Wasylik, Czesław Mozil and Marcin Jajkiewicz, performing all of the beloved songs from FROZEN with the orchestra and chorus. Natalia Nykiel, from Polands The Voice also performs.

The following week, on February 12th, Ochsner returns to Portland to conduct the Oregon Symphony in a performance of STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS. This live-to-projection concert contains all of the original dialogue and sound effects, however the soundtrack is performed live, by full symphony orchestra and chorus all synchronized to the film! Last year he conducted the Oregon Symphonys acclaimed performance of STAR TREK (2009), which resulted in an immediate invitation to return with STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.

Erik Ochsners versatility as a conductor has stretched across a broad range of repertoire: from conducting as few as five performers in contemporary and modern works, to leading 300 performers in live to projection concerts of films like LORD OF THE RINGS, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, PIXAR IN CONCERT, STAR TREK, and BACK TO THE FUTURE. Ochsner also serves as Principal Guest Conductor of BUGS BUNNY AT THE SYMPHONY. He is equally comfortable on the concert stage, or leading opera, oratorio and multi-media performances and has appeared with orchestras and ensembles in Adelaide, Albuquerque, Beijing, Detroit, Indianapolis, Kaohsiung, Kitchener-Waterloo, Krakw, Leipzig, Melbourne, Mexico City, New York, Oregon, Ottawa, Reykjavik, Richmond, Rochester, Round Top Festival Institute (Texas), St. Louis, Shanghai, Stockholm, Tampere, Wellington, and Wolf Trap (Virginia).

When not traveling with the live-to-projection concerts, Ochsner serves as Music Director and founder of the SONOS Chamber Orchestra where he leads concerts in not often heard repertoire, frequently featuring Scandinavian composers. In 2015, he commissioned a new Concerto for 2 Pianos and Chamber Orchestra by Swedish composer Fredrik Sixten. Ochsner has conducted SONOS in five world premieres, and eleven U.S. premieres, including Requiems by Fredrik Sixten and Karl Jenkins. He also serves as Artistic Director of the Dranoff 2 Piano Foundation in Miami, FL. Ochsner has helped to bring in larger audiences with his creative programming and his hosting of concerts for the foundation. In the fall of 2014, he led three separate tours of Dranoff laureates to Colombia. He also serves on the Board of United Palace Theater, a 1929 movie house jewel in NYCs Washington Heights.
