Salute To Valor Concert Series Begins In Tulsa
Tulsa, OK (Top40 Charts/ Help Hospitalized Veterans) Help Hospitalized Veterans (HHV) will present the first in its 2016 Salute to Valor concert series on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Mabee Center in Tulsa, Okla., (7777 S. Lewis Avenue). Doors open at 6 p.m., with pre-concert activities beginning at 7. Celebrated country music artist Chris Janson (Warner Bros. Records) will headline.

Area veterans, military service members and their families are invited to attend this free event, also open to the public. It is presented in partnership with AMVETS, the Department of Defense Vietnam War Commemoration, Soldier's Wish and Tulsa's Coffee Bunker.

A national, nonprofit organization, HHV was founded to provide therapeutic arts and crafts to America's veterans and active duty military. In 2009, HHV expanded its mission to include a concert series featuring popular performers to not only entertain, but to educate Americans about the contributions of our nation's war veterans and military.

"Our goal is to offer therapeutic assistance to our nation's veterans and military, to improve emotional health and ease the transition to civilian life," said HHV's Chairman of the Board, John (Jack) M. Meagher, Judge (Retired), a Vietnam War veteran. "At our concerts, we are able to educate the public about the tremendous sacrifices these individuals made. We look forward to hosting another big night to honor the brave men and women who risked their lives for our freedom. Every concert in this series is an experience to witness."

The concert features a special performance by one of country music's hottest up-and-coming artists, Chris Janson. Janson, who has penned songs for Tim McGraw, Hank Williams, Jr., and others, recently celebrated his own success with his platinum-certified No. 1 hit single, "Buy Me A Boat."

The event is free, but tickets are required. Tickets are available at the Mabee Center Ticket Office or online, www.mabeecenter.com.

This Salute to Valor concert is co-presented with AMVETS, one of America's leading veterans service organizations. It is also part of the Department of Defense's 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Vietnam War. Co-presenter Soldier's Wish is a nonprofit organization with a mission to grant the wishes of military service members, veterans and their families. Coffee Bunker is Tulsa's peer-operated, drop-in center for veterans and their family members.
