LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - In addition to his own project EchoBrain (allstar, Aug. 9) and the production and bass work he is doing with Voivod, Newsted has now signed on to produce the latest effort from Speedealer.

The band and Newsted are currently holed up in a Sausalito, Calif., recording studio, with a tentative release date for the project slated for spring 2002 on Palm Records. Second Sight is the current working title for the record.
