Music opened an office in the dynamic Entertainment District of Downtown Toronto. Current
Music represents 18 music catalogs for licensing in Canada and the new office gives clients in the Northern territory easier access to personal music supervision and creative project management. An additional benefit to the new location is that clients on the east coast of the United States will have assistance in their time zone for music searches, quotes and licensing.
Helming "Current
Music North" are Ross J Hardy and
Craig McConnell. Ross has a 20 plus year history in the production music business as a composer and as an executive. He has amassed a catalog of over 3000 tracks represented in 62 countries!
Craig McConnell is a veteran, award-winning Film and TV composer, record producer and songwriter. He has scored 10 feature films that have screened in over 50 countries, and his music can be heard in over 4000 episodes of television.
Craig is an industry leader and serves on the board of directors of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada. Rounding out the office is Adrian Kahle, who has cut his teeth doing music supervision for brands in Canada.
A new searchable Canada database, comprising of over 20,000 tracks and 14 music catalogs; one of which is 100% Canadian owned and composed, has been created in Current Music's easy online search engine. 4 additional music catalogs for both Canada, as well as the US, are being ingested into the search engine at this time. At https://search.currentmusic.com clients can type in a descriptive word, listen, make a playlist and download high quality WAV, AIFF and MP3 files. Hard drives with searchable music can also be provided. The company also provides music research experts at no additional cost.
