NEW YORK (HBPR/ www.hbpr.com/ Consect/www.consect.com) - MobileMusiCon 2004 announced today that Les Bider, Chairman and CEO of Warner/Chappell
Music Inc., one of the largest music publishers in the world, will deliver the opening keynote address at MobileMusiCon at the Ritz Carlton in South Beach Miami, on November 18th, 2004. The conference will run from November 18th - 19th and will focus on the U.S. mobile music market, which Consect estimates will generate $300 million for 2004 and more than $1 billion by 2006.
Warner/Chappell has a catalog of more than one million copyrights worldwide, making the company one of the largest music publishers in the world. Under Les Bider's guidance, Warner/Chappell has become a first stop for A&R executives, feature film and television producers, and others who need to acquire song rights. In addition, Warner/Chappell has played an important role in the careers of such major artists as Sheryl Crow, Dido, Hoobastank, Nickelback and many others.
"Les Bider is a legend in the industry and will be a major force in the development of the mobile music industry," said Mark Frieser, CEO of Consect and organizer of the MobileMusiCon. "Music publishers are critical to the successful implementation of the mobile music industry and will continue to play an important role in its proliferation."
"I am looking forward to addressing such an important audience," said Bider. "We are at a critical juncture in the mobile music industry and it is imperative for music publishers, record companies, mobile operators and third parties to work together to create a robust mobile music market.
In partnership, I am confident that we can offer consumers simple, easy access to all the music they want, when they want it."
