Music & Arts Partners With Music4Life To Support Local School Music Programs
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) We know students who learn music are more likely to do better in school. Our partnership with Music4Life makes sense because they will be able to use our resources to support a large amount of schools in the area.

A common perception among parents is if you don't have money, you can't participate in music classes, but Music & Arts wants to help change that. The country's largest school music retailer just announced a partnership with Seattle-based, non-profit Music4Lifeā„¢. The new partnership will help secure and repair instruments for the elementary-aged children of public schools with immediate needs and high numbers of students on "free and reduced lunch" (FRL) and then expand to serving schools district-wide.

"We know students who learn music are more likely to do better in school. Our partnership with Music4Life makes sense because they will be able to use our resources to support a large amount of schools in the area," said Steve Selman, director of sales, Music & Arts. "We're honored to help Music4Life give the lifelong gift of music."

Music & Arts will collect instruments donated from the community for free at any of their 12 area Music & Arts stores. The company will repair those instruments at a significantly reduced rate to send them to Music4Life for distribution. A completed donor form must accompany each instrument.

"It's imperative we have partners like Music & Arts to make our mission of putting ready-to-play musical instruments into the hands of youth," said David Endicott, president and CEO, Music4Life. "Music is such a great way to enhance the learning experience so we are thankful to be able to expand our reach with partnerships and donations like this."

About Music4Life
Music4Life acquires lovingly used musical instruments from adults who no longer need them, gets these instruments fully repaired and ready-to-play, and then provides them to participating public school districts for use by the elementary-aged students of low income families. Districts include Seattle, Edmonds, Highline, Mukilteo and Shoreline Public Schools. Emergent programs are being developed for Everett. When resources allow, new instruments can also be purchased for these districts.
