Cecile McLorin Salvant's 6 Nights Of NYC LP Release Shows
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Cecile McLorin Salvant, the wildly talented 25-year-old jazz singer about whom the New York Times said "If anyone can extend the lineage of The Big Three - Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald - it's this virtuoso," is set to play a 5-night-stand from August 25th to 30th at NYC's Jazz Standard to celebrate the release of 'For One To Love.' Out September 4 on Mack Avenue, the album is the follow-up to 2013's 'WomanChild,' which made Cecile a breakout star.

The new album is a dazzling effort that sees Cecile explore jazz history, feminism, lost love and broadway classics with ingenuity and subversive intent. Backed by the ever-adventurous Aaron Diehl Trio -- who will provide their customarily tight backing during the Jazz Standard run -- Cecile's voice once again proves itself one of jazz's most potent and versatile instruments, whether singing cutting originals like "Look At Me" or imbuing lost classics like Blanche Calloway's "Growlin' Dan" with a defiant confidence.

August 25-30th
