New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The 2015 version of the video for the track also underlines a new message and one that Mele Mel is determined to tell the world and at last truly put, The Message, straight. In line with these determined efforts, Quite Great will be acting as their UK representatives handling all media relations and other related matters linking in with their U.S. management.
As Scorpio explains:
'Mele mel & Scorpio would like to thank Quite Great on being the first company in the UK to break their new video 'The Message' 2015. This is all about getting history clear, and the new video and its introduction helps start that process . The biggest mistake we did was leaving Flash's name on The Furious 5 releases even though the record label advised us to change it. Now especially on the global live circuit, promoters treat Flash like he's Gladys Knight whilst Mele Mel and myself are seen as The Pips. We finally want the world to know he did nothing on the records no scratchin' or producin'. We want people to just ask themselves when they first heard the name Grandmaster Flash? The answer will always be, when they first heard our records which we created, not him. No one will ever say they heard his name first by scratching. Unless you was from the bronx.'
As Mele Mel says following on from Scorpio: 'I don't have much to say about Flash that is printable, because all he's doing and all he has ever done is tried to keep all the credit for a name that he knows he didn't build. It is very annoying and with the new video we want to go some of the way to getting The real Message out there to the worldwide public. From day one it was Mele Mel and Scorpio that made Furious5, and we want every lover of rap and hip hop to know it. Check out the new video and spread the word.'
