LONDON, UK (Ras Records) - Next Tuesday evening 16th November, we invite you to the West End's Market Place to meet rising Dominican Reggae singer-songwriter Nasio, during his first European visit. Hear his music, including songs from his brilliant album 'Living In The Positive' - a collection of 11 crucial, incredibly well crafted roots reggae tracks with conscious lyrics, beautiful harmonies and fantastic horns, courtesy of Steel Pulse's original horn section and Cedric IM Brooks. Nasio's 'Living In The Positive' is a culmination of 15 years of struggle in relative obscurity, all but ignored outside of Dominica and St. Maarten. 'Living In The Positive' looks set to catapult Nasio to the forefront of Reggae's consciousness movement. Its decidedly old school blend of big horn arrangements and classic one-drop rhythms harkens back to Reggae's golden era. "I've always wanted to get the music to a state where mi could use live drums and live horn sections," he says. "Cause when mi listen to my elders, these are the techniques that they used." Speaking of elders, Nasio's vocal style and charisma do nothing to discourage comparisons to the dreadlocked glory of the Tuff Gong himself. NASIO OFFICIAL LAUNCH TUESDAY 16TH NOVEMBER VENUE: Marketplace Bar, 5pm - 7pm ADDRESS: 11 MARKET PLACE, LONDON, W1 8AH (OFF GREAT PORTLAND STREET) NEAREST TUBE: OXFORD CIRCUS
