Ghost Lit Kingdom Illuminates The Scene With "You Don't Know Me"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Indie band, Ghost Lit Kingdom release their break-out single, "You Don't Know Me," a dynamic power ballad from start to finish. Their dramatic approach to indie pop has torrential vocal harmonies akin to acts like Monsters and Men and Arcade Fire, but with an eclectic range of influences, making them second to none. "You Don't Know Me", Ghost Lit Kingdom's debut single and is now available on iTunes!

Beginning with a clean acoustic lick, "You Don't Know Me" quickly bursts into a seizing chant of vocal harmonies that grabs listeners right away. Ela Kitapci leads the song with a powerful presence and captivating lead vocals. The quintet also features Taylor Morrow and Michael Sevilla on guitar, Andrew Furze on bass and Jason Rodriguez on drums. Citing influences from folk, pop, alternative rock and jazz, Ghost Lit Kingdom creates an unparalleled sound. Their five-part vocal harmonies command attention with larger than life reverberation. "The song is meant to be a cathartic expression of the attempt to define oneself separate from any external affiliation and the difficulty that often accompanies that endeavor", says Morrow. Filled with sentiments of disconnect, confusion and sorrow, "You Don't Know Me" proves to find a resonating splendor in its malaise. When Kitapci belts the hook, "you don't know me anymore," it is nearly impossible to hold back from singing along. The band blissfully shares the vocal spotlight between Kitapci and Morrow, as their voices seamlessly and graciously interlace. Ghost Lit Kingdom embraces their philosophy of approaching music, showcasing the strengths and talents of each member. The track was mixed by Ken Andrews (Paramore, Jimmy Eat World, Beck) and recorded at Suburban Soul Studios by Charlie Park and Nick Zagorin.

After Kitapci met Morrow, the two began writing music together in Hermosa Beach, CA. Playing shows as a duo, the two realized they would need a larger band to create the music they began to envision together. In 2014, they would recruit Sevilla, Furze and Rodriguez to form Ghost Lit Kingdom. The band has performed at venues such as Howl At The Moon, House of Blues, The Mint and recently performed at the Serenity Gathering Festival. Having formed a collective that commands the attention of listeners with such power and intensity, the sky's the limit for Ghost Lit Kingdom.

"You Don't Know Me" is the first release in a series of singles we can expect from Ghost Lit Kingdom this year. Their anthemic indie style will be sure to captivate a growing fan base in the Los Angeles indie scene.
