NEW YORK (Veda Records) - On November 6th, the MAGIC BUS DIWALI DINNER will host a gala dinner at the Ballroom of the Four Season's Hotel, Hamilton Place, and Park Lane in London. Over 300 guests will be in attendance with a night filled with entertainment and silent auctions. Headline performances by International recording artist and soul diva Mira Veda and dance troupe "The Twilight Players", are sure to light up the night. Mira will share a live performance from her new CD, 'infinite Love'.

Mira's R&B, soul style is about the dynamic of relationship and the transparency of emotional authenticity. Songs like 'Love Yourself' speak to every person to move deeper into themselves. Mira sees the connectedness of human interaction and writes about it. In her own words, Mira says,' music is not about race, color or religion, it's about you, it's about me. It's about what brings your heart closer to mine' Among others who perform will be singer Affe Adel and magician, Uri Gellar.

Among the auction lots there is a walk on part in a scene with Elizabeth Hurley in her next film; a 14 days 'Princely Tour', staying in the Havelis and Palaces of Rajasthan; 3 nights stay in Bucharest, with a game of tennis with the legendary Ilie Nastase; a cookery lesson for 6 by a British celebrity chef, and a dinner at your own home; a cricket bat signed by the indian cricket team; mart in johnson's autographed rugby shorts, a golf holiday for 2 to Spain, 2 all inclusive tickets to the British Irish Lions Tour of New Zealand, and a trip to Paris with a personal fitting for a dress with Sophia Kokosolaki, with tickets to her fashion show!

Magic Bus is creating a world class, personal and social education programme for at-risk children living in highly marginalized circumstances. We work with many thousands of children every year many of who are runaways sleeping on the streets, or staying in slums, factories, construction sites and red light districts. They are lured into crime, substance abuse and trafficking. Girls are particularly vulnerable to the latter. Children spend their waking days more as adults, waking up at the crack of dawn busy with chores, taking up odd and many a time dangerous jobs, and shuffling between the municipal school and informal education classes, or roaming the streets. They have little time to be children and enjoy what life has to offer. These negative influences are compounded with the lack of role models in their lives to guide them to make good life decisions.

Magic Bus has found a powerful and innovative way of creating a relevant and effective development programme that helps break this generation cycle. We create an environment where a young person can challenge himself and discover the strength within to overcome many of life's obstacles and build resilience. We create a series of opportunities for exploration and learning so that a young person to develop a sense of awareness of self and with a rightful sense of belonging in the community. The programme culminates in a work – based learning programme that offers Magic Bus graduates' the opportunity to experience training, education or employment. Working with children for a time frame of 10 years through the ages of 8 to 18 as well as helping graduates with employment exposure and vocational career opportunities is the key to Magic Bus's success.

The award winning programme places young role models in the children's lives to mentor them through their childhood and youth. Magic Bus uses experiential and activity based learning to tackle issues as diverse as gender discrimination and communication skills, HIV awareness and self-esteem. Magic Bus understands that creating emotional, social and physical competence can create successful and happy individuals.

Currently, Magic Bus is a Mumbai specific organization, and our goal is to take Magic Bus Mumbai to a level of self-sustainability by 2007 through local corporate and private philanthropic funding and to then take this model to Delhi and other metros in India where the at-risk youth can benefit from this form of developmental learning.

The UK office forms a funding arm of Magic Bus India and funds raised from their efforts will go towards seeding and incubating each new office in India until each in turn becomes locally self-sustainable.

Magic Bus is a registered charity in the UK and India. For more details about our work please visit our web-site www.magicbusindia.org
