Variety, eclecticism, fusion, lyricism and boldness... That is what you will get with "FERIA" the latest album by FEDE GRAÑA & LOS PROLIJOS. A little bit of everything, since the array of their musical genres and styles provides the perfect framework for the "Sounds From Uruguay" show where they will join forces with 4 other bands from that South American country and feature the musical wealth that distinguishes them.
Their music is a rich blend of traditional folk rock with nuances of polka and a fusion with music from the Balkans as well as funk, among others. The group finds their vital complement in their songs, those 14 tracks (six of which have been mentioned above) that make up their recent album FERIA, that promise to captivate the audience at the festival.
FEDE GRAÑA joins the doctor, the engineer and the architect, as he calls the friends and musicians who make up the band, with whom he has been able to create a stable band after 'Ansiedad', the first solo album of this songwriter, guitar player and founding member of 'Vieja Historia'.
The record is full of flavor and variety, and the group's members took a slow and thoughtful creative musical and recording journey that spanned from October 2012 to March 2013. That is when the album came to life, and, after listening to its tracks, got its name: FERIA. Just like that, because it is an exhibition and input of everything and everybody. Said record was recorded at Fede's home studio, 'San Fruta Records,' using an experimental method by Eduardo Campanella. It was mixed by Guillermo Berta at "Basurita" and masterized in Chile by Joaquín García.
Andrés Calamaro, Tan Biónica and No Te Va Gustar are some of the artists that have shared the stage with FEDE GRAÑA & LOS PROLIJOS after Feria, that has won 3 awards at the last edition of the Uruguayan music awards, Premios Graffiti. They received 6 nominations and after winning 3 of them became the artists with the most awards of the night. . He has also collaborated with Socio, Jorge Nasser, Cursi, among others.
Fede Graña has been playing the guitar since he was 11 years old, leading him to become a member of several bands in Montevideo, despite having been born in France. He made his debut as a solo artist with 'Ansiedad', as a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and artistic producer. At the last Premios Graffiti awards for Uruguayan music said record was nominated for "Best Songwriter," "Best Producer," "Best New Artist," and "Best Pop Album." During said ceremony, he received the "Best New Artist" award for the second time, something he had already won with his old band Vieja Historia in 2007, a group he founded and remained connected to until 2011.
