Readers Witness Big Band, Jazz History In Henry Holloway's New Memoir
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Holloway's memoir gives readers a behind-the-scenes look at some of the biggest names in jazz, vocals and big bands.
In March 2003, Henry Holloway made history with the Big Band Academy of America: He became the first non-American to win the prestigious Golden Bandstand Award, a tribute to his 30-year (at the time) career in radio broadcasting. His contemporaries include Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. Holloway remains one of just two non-Americans so acclaimed.

Holloway's new memoir, "Swing, Sing and All That Jazz: The Autobiography of Henry Holloway" (published by Trafford Publishing), illustrates the profound impact that jazz, the great vocals and big band music have had on his extensive career in radio broadcasting.

"Swing, Sing and All That Jazz" takes readers back to Holloway's beginnings in South Africa, where he made his radio debut with a series on Glenn Miller, aired by the South African Broadcasting Corporation's (SABC) English Service in 1974. He later hosted several programs for SABC that were broadcast throughout Africa, North America and Europe and for the British Broadcasting Corporation.

Holloway's memoir gives readers a behind-the-scenes look at some of the biggest names in jazz, vocals and big bands. His colorful anecdotes paint an accurate picture of life in the radio business and capture his lifelong passion for the music he broadcasts.

Ginny Mancini, Board Member of the ASCAP Foundation and Chairperson of the Society of Singers; widow of multiple Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer/conductor Henry Mancini, has endorsed Holloway's "Swing, Sing and All That Jazz."

"I don't know any other broadcaster/musicologist anywhere who has a more ardent passion for the Great American Songbook than he has. Henry has 'lived' music, particularly American music, on his radio programs, as so many legends of the music world have attested to, including my late husband, Henry Mancini. It is amazing that one person who lives in South Africa, far removed from the USA, has made such an impact on the American music scene."
