(To40 Charts/ Aristo Media PR) - Kris Kristofferson will be honored at the World Famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge on Monday, November 8 at noon as the recipient of the first ever Orchid Award. Kristofferson is the first inductee to be immortalized with an engraved marble likeness placed along the Tootsie's Walk of Fame that will lead through the famous venue. The Walk of Fame will start at the front bar and wind its way to Tootsie's famous back room. The presentation signifies Kristofferson's many achievements in the entertainment and recording industries. The award was established by Tootsie's to recognize and pay tribute to all of the artists and songwriters, like Kristofferson, who have helped make World Famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge a mecca for Country Music fans around the world Kristofferson is just one of many legendary artists, including Willie Nelson, Roger Miller, Mel Tillis and Patsy Cline, who spent countless nights at Tootsie's during the start of their careers, socializing and swapping stories and songs, writing and performing whenever the opportunity arose.  "The need to recognize the original artists that contributed to making Tootsie's what it is today is very strong," Tootsie's Entertainment Director John Taylor said. "They helped establish Tootsie's as the place for up and coming singers and songwriters to come and perform. The development of the Orchid Award is a perfect way to honor these great artists."
