Sleater-Kinney Signs New Co-Publishing Agreement With Big Deal Music And BMG
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On the eve of a wildly anticipated return, Big Deal Music and BMG proudly announce the signing of Sleater-Kinney, one of the most beloved and fiercely independent musical acts in history. No Cities to Love, out Tuesday on Sub Pop, is the band's first release since 2005's The Woods, and cements their status as musical/cultural standard bearers. According to The New York Times, No Cities to Love establishes a new high for the band that is "more melodic and more turbulent at the same time. It is the first great album of 2015."

"We are thrilled to continue our long-term relationship with Sleater-Kinney," said David Hirshland at BMG Chrysalis US. "Partnering with Big Deal is a very exciting prospect as we together look to maximize the reach of this new album which is already proving to be a major statement in the world of rock music in 2015."

"Creatively, this is a special moment for a singular, massively important band," adds Dave Ayers of Big Deal Music. "To have an opportunity to contribute to the efforts of everyone involved is a rare privilege. The record is a real watershed, and there's a whole new generation of fans about to be born right before our eyes."

Originally formed in Olympia, WA by Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker, then joined by Janet Weiss in 1996, the band made seven records between 1995 and 2005, routinely topping both the college radio charts and critical year end "best" lists. They've been lauded as "America's best rock band" by Greil Marcus in Time, and "America's best punk band. EVER" in RollingStone.
