New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Tragic Hero Records) After a successful release of their fourth full-length album Rise, Lodi California rock band A Skylit Drive has announced a first for their careers. They decided to test the dynamics of their songs by releasing several videos featuring vocalist Michael "Jag" Jagmin and guitarist Nick Miller performing the tracks acoustically.
The response from fans was overwhelming and they wanted to hear more. With that in mind the band decided to re-invent the sound of the critically acclaimed album in the form of Rise: Ascension.
They didn't simply plug in acoustic guitars and record coffee shop versions of the songs however; they instead re-worked the pieces into standalone compositions featuring piano, cello, bass, and other assorted instruments. They enlisted platinum producer Jim Wirt (Incubus, Something Corporate, The Rocket Summer) who worked with the band on the pre-production of Rise.
The new record will be released via Tragic Hero Records on 01/06/15.
