New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer, songwriter and Cincinnati native
Olivia Frances will have her music featured in the short film "The Art Carvers of
Music Hall" during the upcoming Cincinnati World Cinema Women in Film Weekend December 6 & 7. Ms.
Frances is an 18 year old rising star in the music community and her song "Seasons Grow On" was chosen by filmmaker Melissa Godoy to be a part of her documentary in the Lunafest Short Film Festival.
Olivia Frances has a songwriting style that is based on imagery and setting, and "Seasons Grow On" focuses on her fascination with time and how it is a constant theme in life. What a fitting narrative for a film that talks about the history surrounding the creation of images that are still found at the famous Cincinnati
Music Hall.
A Screening for an Historic Screen
Melissa Godoy's short film "The Art Carvers of
Music Hall" tells the true story of 108 local women artisans and their role in one of the largest and most important public art commissions in Cincinnati's history — the carved organ screen for
Music Hall's historic Hook & Hastings organ of 1878. The documentary debuted in February, 2014 and the Cincinnati World Cinema felt so strongly about it that they invited Godoy back for the upcoming Women In Film Weekend. Her film illuminates an important but, in the case of the art carvers, largely forgotten role that Cincinnati women played in establishing the decorative and musical arts in Cincinnati.
"I've been lucky enough to preview the film and I find it intriguing and educational. Godoy did a fantastic job explaining the history of "The Art Carvers of
Music Hall." I'm so thankful to have my song, "Seasons Grow On" in this film!" -

Growing On & Growing Up
Olivia Frances is proud to come from Cincinnati and to have her first film inclusion be in a documentary about such an historic musical landmark in her hometown is outstanding. In fact, one of her first musical experiences was attending an event at
Music Hall and over the years Ms.
Frances has seen many inspiring performances there. "Seasons Grow On" is a culmination of reminiscing on a relationship, self-growth, and following your dreams as the seasons change. This hometown girl is certainly doing an amazing job following her dreams while staying true to her roots and being an example of how women from the past can inspire women of today to do bigger and better things.
