BRENTWOOD, TN. (Spaarrow Records) - San
Diego rock band Switchfoot, now nearing double platinum certification for its breakthrough album, THE BEAUTIFUL LETDOWN, will issue THE EARLY YEARS: 1997-2000 on November 2, compiling the act's first three studio sets into one release.
THE EARLY YEARS features 32 songs and original artwork from Switchfoot's THE LEGEND OF CHIN (1997), NEW WAY TO BE HUMAN (1999), and LEARNING TO BREATHE (2000), the latter featuring the original recording of the band's current mainstream radio/video hit, 'Dare You To Move.'
While most people know Switchfoot because of THE BEAUTIFUL LETDOWN, which has spent the past four months among the Top 30 albums in the United States according to Billboard magazine and features the multi-format smash 'Meant To Live,' a dedicated fan base and the media have been supportive from the band's beginning. Consider these reviews for the first three recordings:
Billboard called THE LEGEND OF CHIN, featuring first hits 'Chem 6A' and 'You,' 'An intriguing and surprisingly mature effort for a debut release.'
The Dallas Morning News said NEW WAY TO BE HUMAN, which includes the pounding title track, 'Hooks the listener into a delightfully varied musical journey...gets better with every listen.'
CCM Magazine declared that with LEARNING TO BREATHE, 'Switchfoot blows down the doors and hits a major sprinter's stride.' THE EARLY YEARS: 1997-2000 will be packaged in a double jewel case and is in stores everywhere November 2.
In other Switchfoot news, the band will release a new single from THE BEAUTIFUL LETDOWN, 'This Is Your Life,' to mainstream and Christian radio stations this fall. Switchfoot will also appear on MTV's 'Hard Rock Live' program December 1.
