New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Interpol kicked off a busy week in New York with a performance of "Everything Is Wrong" from their "triumphant" (Chicago Tribune) new LP 'El Pintor' (Matador) on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Watch it below:
Their NYC takeover continues with an original mural by Shepard Fairey inspired by the new album, recently painted on Driggs Avenue and N. 7th Street in Williamsburg. Fairey's previous work includes the 2008 "Hope" portrait of Barack Obama; additionally, his work is featured in collections at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and MOMA.
Tonight they'll play the second of three sold out Terminal 5 shows. Their extensive North American tour continues on Saturday with two sold out shows in DC.
